Texas Roadtrip: The END

I promise that this is the last post about our vacation... While we were in Midland, my little sister's family (Brittany, Colby, and baby Cooper) joined us for a few days. I had so much fun hanging out with them and holding little Cooper. My older brother, Travis, also lives in Midland and Tyler and his family joined us later on in the week so we actually had quite a bit of family back home to visit!

Travis' boys talked John into shooting soft pellet guns at each other. I think that Kendall won the prize for the best aim. He shot John right in the forehead, which left him with a nicely sized welt for the rest of the week.

Every time we go home to visit it seems like there is a ward activity scheduled at our house. This time was no different. My parents sponsored two mud football games in their backyard while we were there (one for the young single adults and another for the the youth's stake activity). The weekend before we arrived, my dad got called to be in the newly formed stake presidency so he had tons of meetings to go to during the week that we were there. John tried to help out where he could and my dad even trusted him enough to drive the tractor and plow up a portion of the yard for the mud football games. Of course, the grandkids had to get in on a piece of the action so we let them have some fun in the mud before the activities took place.

Bentley loved being at Nana and Papa's house. There were so many new things to explore and he got SO much attention. He definitely loves his Nana and Papa (and their glasses). We wore him out so much that he slept for the ENTIRE 12 hour drive back home to Vegas. We drove back during the night again, but I still couldn't have asked for a better travel companion. Bentley went to sleep shortly after we left and woke up on the 95 Freeway about 10 minutes away from our house. Complete bliss!
